Empower Hour

  • Students, Faculty, and Staff are welcome to attend monthly discussions in the Women and Gender Office.
  • Potential topics include: #MeToo movement and history, masculinity, destigmatizing periods, healthy body image, and current events.

Opportunities for Students

  • Women working a farmVolunteer with our office.
  • Attend signature events, programs
  • Applications for Program Assistants (recruiting undergraduate and graduate students) will open in Spring 2024 for the 2024-2025 academic year.

Opportunities for Faculty and Staff

  • Visit the office located in the Main Campus Student Center, suite 108.
  • Offer extra credit for student participation in programs and events.
  • Check out a book from the Gender Lending Library.
  • Attend programs and events, including Faculty/Staff-focused opportunities.
  • Join the WGO e-mail list and share out events with ECU community.
  • Encourage students to apply to be a WGO Program Assistant (peer educator).
  • Serve as a mentor in the Let’s Get Coffee program and/or the Sister to Sister Mentor Network.
  • Join the panel and guest speaker registry.
  • Facilitate an Empower Hour discussion.
